Position Summary:

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties is to create and

support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. The position of Program& Events Coordinator is very integral to the overall function of our office and our ability to support our Bigs &Littles. This position requires someone with a heart for serving others and the ability to be a team player. Hoursmay vary from day to day and are determined by the agency's needs.

Occasional weekend hours may be needed.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Assist with youth program development and fundraising events as assigned.
  • 3. Document and conduct all duties in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • 4. Represent the organization in a positive light, reinforcing the organization's mission.
  • 5. Attend community fairs and events to increase agency visibility and interest.
  • 6. Create and maintain a database of donors/supporters/potential supporters.
  • 7. Create event flyers and monthly newsletter.
  • 8. Work a flexible schedule according to agency needs, which may include some evening hours and occasional weekend hours.
  • 9. Other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
  • 1. Ability to work individually while positively contributing to a team environment.
  • 2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 3. Ability to use time effectively and focus on details while meeting agency goals related to quality and safety.
  • 4. Computer competence (i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Docs, Database Management).
  • 5. Strong relationship building skills.
  • 6. Comfortable with and ability to connect with others via phone and email.
  • 7. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, while prioritizing deadlines.
  • 8. Bilingual candidates preferred.
Qualifications:
  • 1. Bachelor's degree (preferred) in related field
  • 2. Pass the Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Transportation, and Child Abuse Registry background checks according to the organization's standards.
  • 3. Possess a valid (United States) driver's license.
  • 4. Displays a sense of cultural competence and experience practicing inclusivity amongst a variety of populations.
