The Assistant Director of Development, Individual Giving is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Chicago Area. This position is responsible for managing and growing individual giving programs, including annual fund initiatives, mid-level donor portfolios, and major gift prospects. Day-to-day responsibilities include cultivating and stewarding donors through meetings, calls, events, and personalized communications, as well as preparing proposals, impact reports, and acknowledgment letters.

The role involves collaborating with senior leadership and program staff to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities, tracking performance against targets, and maintaining accurate donor records in the CRM system. The Assistant Director also supports campaign planning, assists with donor events, and contributes to the development of strategies that enhance philanthropic engagement across the Diocese of Joliet service area.

• Candidates should possess skills in individual fundraising and philanthropy, including Annual Giving and Fundraising.
• Candidates should possess skills in advanced donor strategies, such as Planned Giving and long-term philanthropic relationship building.
• Candidates should possess skills in financial planning and oversight related to development programs, including Budgeting.
• Demonstrated experience managing donor portfolios, cultivating and stewarding individual donors, and meeting fundraising goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor materials and present to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to use donor management/CRM systems, analyze data, and generate reports to inform strategy and measure outcomes.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities on-site.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or related discipline), or equivalent experience.
• Experience in nonprofit development, especially in human services or faith-based organizations, is strongly preferred.
