Nurse Practitioner - Part time

Compensation Information: $70.88 - $78.76 / hour

• Conduct routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on site.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals.
• Provide input into facility mandatory committees as requested.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience

• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience preferred.
• Patience, tact to deal with inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment.
• Scheduling flexibility required to rotate hours and shifts, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.

We are looking for a part‑time NP to join our clinical team at Will County Jail. Our ideal candidate has experience with MAT/MAR (medication assisted treatment/medication assisted recovery), acute and chronic care experience. This role will provide leadership to the MAR team.
