The starting pay for this position is $30 per hour
. Final compensation may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Hourly wage range: $26.88 - $36.96

About the roleThe Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance regarding donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state in which responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
