Position Summary

The University of St. Francis, a Catholic, Franciscan institution in Joliet, Illinois, invites applications for a nine‑month, full‑time faculty position as Undergrad Clinical Compliance Coordinator/Nursing Instructor/Asst Prof (Peds/OB) in the Leach College of Nursing, beginning August 2026. Rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications. The University will consider candidates who hold a doctorate in Nursing or a related field; applicants with limited teaching or leadership experience will be considered and enrolled in the Faculty Mentoring program designed to develop them into seasoned faculty.

The position reports to the Dean of Nursing, oversees undergrad clinical compliance, collaborates on curriculum, assessment, and other academic matters, and teaches courses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Uphold and fulfill the mission and philosophy of the Leach College of Nursing.
  • Participate in and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • The Undergraduate Clinical Compliance Coordinator coordinates and monitors student clinical compliance requirements for all enrolled undergraduate nursing students, supporting regulatory, accreditation, agency, and clinical partner requirements to ensure that students are eligible to participate in clinical learning experiences. The coordinator serves as a liaison among students, faculty, clinical agencies, and university departments to maintain accurate compliance records and support successful clinical placement processes, teach selected courses, and participate in scholarly activities.
  • Provide service to the University, Leach College of Nursing, and the community by serving on appropriate University/College and Governance Committees, participating in University/College activities including faculty, students, and alumni, cooperating in the recruitment and retention of students, and engaging in scholarly endeavors and research for professional and scholarly growth.
  • Participate in professional programs and attend workshops and/or classes for personal enrichment; participate in College projects in the area of expertise.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Current RN license or eligibility for licensing in Illinois
  • Two years of experience in clinical nursing practice
  • Teaching experience in baccalaureate nursing programs
  • Evidence of self‑development through participation in continuing education offerings, advanced study, scholarly pursuit, and/or professional and clinical activities
  • Willingness to uphold and fulfill the mission, vision, values, and traditions of the University of St. Francis
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
Preferred Requirements
  • DNP or Ph.D in nursing or related field
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule

This is a full‑time, nine‑month contract position, operating August through May each academic year. Work hours may vary based on program and clinical needs; teaching responsibilities may include online courses. Course assignments may include day, evening, night, weekend, and summer offerings as needed.

Physical Requirements of Position

Work is performed in classroom and office settings with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
