Job Summary

The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for managing, delegating, coordinating, and providing nursing care through utilization of the nursing process. Responsibilities include effective communication with patients, significant others, and multidisciplinary team members, and providing patient assessment, treatment, and care across all ages.

• Systematically provide nursing care to patients within the framework of the nursing process and established standards of practice.
• Integrate principles of patient safety in the provision of direct nursing care and medication management.
• Adhere to established system-wide communication standards and processes.
• Participate in designated forums addressing patient care, patient education, policy and procedures, safety, and clinical outcomes.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills related to nursing practice.

• Associate Degree required or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred.
• National Certification in area of practice preferred.

• BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association) required for ED, SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, and SDS (within 6 months of hire/transfer); PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer).
• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association) required for ED, Nursing Radiology, and SDS (within 6 months of hire/transfer); PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer).
• NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (American Heart Association) required for Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU (within 6 months of hire).
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate required for Infusion Center.

• On‑call required for OR, PACU, and Cath Lab.
