Overview
CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY is a 1.5-mile oval located in Joliet, Ill., approximately 30 miles south of downtown Chicago on Old Historic Route 66. On July 3-5, 2026, NASCAR will return for three days of racing. This position assists in maintaining the safety, security, and orderly operations of Chicagoland Speedway while providing exceptional customer service to guests, employees, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Maintain posts and screen guests for proper tickets and credentials throughout the facility on race weekends.
- Control access to different areas on‑site with proper credentials through verbal communication and physical presence.
- Advise guests on facility rules, policies, and enforce them when necessary to ensure safety.
- Provide outstanding customer service by giving directions, answering questions, and assisting with information about the facility.
- Assist competitors, owners, race officials, and customers by managing parking areas.
- Patrol the property on foot and in Chicagoland Speedway vehicles, ensuring the physical security of customers, competitors, equipment, and other assigned areas.
- Roam the grounds on foot and in golf carts to assist guests, relieve co‑workers for breaks, and respond to calls for assistance.
- Search and screen ticketed guests entering restricted areas for prohibited items and maintain safe, orderly crowd control.
- Inspect camping structures upon entry for prohibited items.
- Secure doors and gates at designated times.
- Patrol the property for unwanted, unsafe, or suspicious behavior.
- Assist in setting up perimeter fencing and barricades.
- High‑school diploma, general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An active driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle license inspection, if required by the position.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous security experience is preferred but not required.
- Professional appearance, good communication skills, and willingness to work outdoors.
- Ability to work nights and weekends; reliable transportation to and from the track location.
- Basic computer skills, including email correspondence and documentation of time clock with approved software.
$15.00 – $18.00 per hour.
