Position: (USA) Asset Protection Operations Coach

The Walmart team is looking for a senior manager‑level leader in Asset Protection to drive business results and ensure a secure environment across multiple retail operations. The role requires a combination of sales insight, managerial acumen, and investigative leadership to maintain safety and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, product signing, inventory levels, cleanliness, and stock rotation.
  • Lead and develop teams by training, coaching, and providing feedback; tour stores and teach operational best practices.
  • Model exemplary customer service using the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage customer service initiatives, resolve complaints, and conduct continuous improvement plans.
  • Supervise hourly associates, hire, train, mentor, assign duties and recognize performance.
  • Control unexplained merchandise loss and improve profitability through performance goal setting, loss prevention policy enforcement, and inventory audits.
  • Investigate policy violations and criminal activity, gather evidence, write reports, and present testimony when required.
  • Develop and conduct safety and risk control training, monitor accident trends, and implement prevention plans.
  • Deliver training on asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures; identify training gaps and develop materials.
  • Manage claims and receiving operations, ensuring timely processing of damaged, returned, or liquidated merchandise.
  • Coordinate job‑related activities, develop relationships with stakeholders, and communicate goals and progress.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, the Open Door policy, and maintain ethical standards.
  • Foster an inclusive culture that respects individuality, builds high‑performing teams, and encourages talent development.
  • Act in service of customers and members, making decisions based on data and balancing short‑ and long‑term priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of 2 years of college coursework.
  • Option 1: 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi‑department environment.
  • Option 2: 1 year’s experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi‑department environment.
  • Option 3: 2 years’ experience in asset protection or a related area.
  • Successful completion of state requirements for asset protection (training, certification, licensing).
  • Current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility (if applicable).
  • Successful criminal background check and/or firearms authorization training (if applicable).
  • Completion of all required job‑related trainings and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U or Bellevue University).
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership (Live Better U or Bellevue University).
  • Certification in an asset protection related field (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
  • Experience supervising 5+ direct reports with performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
  • Investigative experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Criminal Justice.
Salary & Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Depending on location, adjustments may apply through Regional Pay Zone and complex structure adjustments.
