Now, for those job details:

We’re expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our East shop in Hudson, IL! In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You’ll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or 1+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty trailer technician. We need a working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum’s success!

Your duties include:

• Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks.
• Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
• Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
• Perform all inspections, including state and federally-mandated safety inspections.
• Follow safe work practices.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.

• Full-time position; hiring for 1st shift.
• Sunday – Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM: 10-hour shifts.

• Trainees start at $16 per hour.

• Strong understanding of diesel automotive systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of diesel/trailer maintenance processes and methods.

• Diesel Technician Degree OR 1+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy‑duty trailer technician.
• Brake and DOT Certifications.
• Welding certificate or 6 months of experience.
• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (Monthly Incentive).
• Basic toolkit and toolbox.
