Now, for those job details:
We’re expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our East shop in Hudson, IL! In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You’ll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or 1+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty trailer technician. We need a working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum’s success!
Your duties include:
- Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks.
- Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
- Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
- Perform all inspections, including state and federally-mandated safety inspections.
- Follow safe work practices.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Full-time position; hiring for 1st shift.
- Sunday – Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM: 10-hour shifts.

19391 N 1425 East Rd, Hudson, IL 61748 - Pay range: $18 – $40 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Trainees start at $16 per hour.
- OT Pay (1.5X base Rate)

- Strong understanding of diesel automotive systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of diesel/trailer maintenance processes and methods.
- Able to navigate resource material and schematics online.
- Effective communication with colleagues and superiors.
- Diesel Technician Degree OR 1+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy‑duty trailer technician.
- Brake and DOT Certifications.
- Welding certificate or 6 months of experience.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (Monthly Incentive).
- Basic toolkit and toolbox.
