Key Requirements:

• Current and valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school social work endorsement in Illinois
• Previous experience as a school social worker, with a strong understanding of the unique needs of students in communication development programs
• Must not hold or apply as a school counselor (counseling credentials not accepted)
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially when working with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Compassion and adaptability to support a range of social and behavioral needs within a school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group social work services to students in communication development classrooms
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of support plans
• Collaborate closely with special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Provide social-emotional interventions, crisis support, and advocacy tailored to the needs of students with communication challenges
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district and state policies
