Whatyou will be doing:Responsible for monitoring and directing students engaged in center- sponsored recreational activities on and off-center, in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions- Assist the supervisor, recreation in planning, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program which will attract voluntary participation
- Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation/avocation activities and extended day learning activities
- Conduct recreation and avocation classes and activities
- Chaperone students to center recreation functions
- Assist in the development of the new enrollee recreation activities and plans.
- Conduct intergroup recreation activities as part of the diversity program
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by conducting daily cleaning duties
- Distribute mail daily to students
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
- Participate in student employability programs and activities
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
- High school diploma or equivalent required and one year experience preferred
- Computer proficiency required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
