The Shipping team is responsible for providing our buyers and sellers with a first-class shipping experience. We connect a global community of musicians, providing buyers with competitive prices, equipping sellers with the tools they need to optimize their shipping, and protecting both buyers and sellers throughout the entire process. It’s a crucial part of shopping on Reverb, and the team is dedicated to every aspect of it.

We're looking for a full-stack engineer to join our team. You'll work across our Rails app, React frontend, and Graph

QL gateway, touching every piece of the shipping experience from buyer-facing UIs to seller configuration tools to vendor integrations. You'll collaborate closely with other full-stack and mobile engineers, product, and design to deliver the shipping features that make Reverb the best place to buy and sell gear.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. Local employees meet weekly at our Salt Shed office, and we all come together for quarterly org onsites and our yearly Reverb fest.

• Ship full-stack features across our Rails/React/Graph
  
  QL codebases, building comfort in new parts of the stack as you go
• Own features end-to-end from scoping and definition through testing, rollout and monitoring
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and design to scope and refine early concepts and see through release
• Debug production issues methodically and clearly communicate problems alongside your team
• Participate in code review, contribute to architecture and documentation, and advocate for tech debt and testing as part of your regular work
• Take ownership of the health and performance of your team's services, not just the work you ship

• 2-4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Solid fundamentals in Ruby/Rails and JavaScript/React and comfort working across the stack
• Familiarity with Graph
  
  QL or eagerness to learn it
• Understanding of web architecture including the separation of frontend and backend concerns and thoughtful API design
• Clear communicator who can scope and explain tradeoffs to engineers, product managers, and designers alike
• Experience with AI workflows, Type Script, Datadog, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git Hub Actions is a plus
