Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Company Driver role based in Joliet, IL. Company Drivers are responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport petroleum or related products to customer locations and company facilities. Daily tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading and unloading products in accordance with company and regulatory procedures, and maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation. Drivers are expected to follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as company safety and environmental policies.

The role also includes communicating professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members, and reporting any mechanical issues, delays, or incidents promptly.

Qualifications
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (such as Tanker and Haz Mat, as required by the position).
  • Proven safe driving record and experience operating commercial vehicles, ideally in the petroleum, chemical, or bulk liquid transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance checks.
  • Capability to safely handle loading and unloading procedures, including use of hoses, valves, and related equipment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with dispatch, customers, and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Physical ability to climb, bend, lift moderate weights, and work in varying weather conditions while performing driving and loading/unloading tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional safety or transportation-related training is a plus.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
