Truck Driver CDL A Solo Regional

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in University Park, IL — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Driver Positions Pay:
  Weekly — $1600 or more per week.
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.53 per mile with 2000 miles per week.
• Solo Stops Pay: $24.00 per stop with 35 stops per week.
• Per Diem Pay: $26.52 per night with 2‑3 nights per week.
• Hourly Pay: $30.00 when supporting other Alro accounts.
• Loyalty Bonus: $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 1 year.
• Sign‑On Bonus: $500 at 30 days and $500 at 90 days.
• Overnights for routes include a Ryder‑booked hotel.
• Schedule:
  
  Mostly Monday – Friday.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/Unload freight or assist in freight loading/unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Deliver SOLO to: IL, IN, MI, OH, MO, WI, MN, IA, KS.
• Route:
  Regional.
• Tractor type:
  Day cab or sleeper.
• Trailer type: 48′–53′ Conestoga, curtainside, flatbed.
• 6 months flatbed experience.
• Equipment:
  Electric pallet jack (Ryder will train on all required equipment).
• Freight:
  Steel & metal products – load securment required.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor‑vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
