Position: Inventory Control Clerk -1st & 2nd Shift (W-16)

Shift Schedules

1st Shift – Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
2nd Shift – Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM.

Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour.

Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory‑related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
  • Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
  • Investigates history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve them.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Physically counts articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Utilizes computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in inventory control.
  • Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Forklift certification a plus.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine the root cause of a problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
