Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Elwood, Illinois — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• $20.00 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Monday-Friday 10:30am-7:00pm; OT when required

Food Products.

Equipment:
Standup Reach Forklift.

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Work within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, stage products, and load and unload trucks.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience (preferred).
• Valid forklift operator's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Highly thorough and dependable.
• Punctual with good attendance record.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• High initiative.
• High level of accuracy under pressure.
• Can lift or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Can stand for long periods.
• Adheres to health and safety methods.
• Flexible schedule, various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
