Job Description
Location:
Arcola, IL facility. You will be a key part of our Operations team, supporting our customers by effectively managing the shipping and receiving function of the facility.
- Oversee the proper loading and handling of goods and materials.
- In charge of shipping supplies and materials out of the storehouse.
- Validate shipping materials and goods with the packing slips/invoices to ascertain the goods being shipped.
- Count, sort, and weigh all outbound goods and authenticate the accompanying paperwork in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Ensure the completion of all paperwork related to shipped goods.
- Inspect and document any damaged goods or discrepancies and report the results to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling and scheduling of trucks and/or freight companies to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team and sales team for shipping and/or pickup of supplies or goods.
- Monitor storehouse records, inventory, and file reports of discrepancies in quantities and damages to the supervisor.
- Execute all safety procedures and standards related to the storage and receipt of goods.
- Propose suggestions to the supervisor regarding documentation, storage, and procurement of goods.
- Coordinate with coworkers to ensure smooth shipment of goods.
- Keep a record of all shipped goods and/or include freight charges on invoices.
- Provide back‑up assistance to other warehouse personnel.
- Manage cores list.
- Travel locally to pick up parts and miscellaneous items as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of relevant warehouse experience; a valid driver’s license is required.
- Proficiency in forklift operation.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience preparing and packing goods for shipment.
- Ability to read, create, and complete shipping documents.
- Knowledge of inventory management and legal procedures of shipping materials.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Primarily light duty; able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Position requires use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; close, peripheral, and depth vision required.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; works under routine deadlines.
- Requires ability to sit, stand, and walk unassisted; normal correctable vision required.
The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $17.00 - $23.00 per hour.
