Job Summary

The Arkansas State University Delta Center for Economic Development seeks a highly energized, organized, and collaborative individual to serve as a Part‑Time Community and Economic Development Specialist. The role supports planning and execution of leadership development initiatives and strategic projects that advance regional economic growth.

The Specialist coordinates program logistics and engages internal and external partners to advance the Delta Center’s mission.

Duties & Responsibilities Leadership Programs & Event Coordination
  • Support the planning, logistics, and execution of leadership development programs, including workshops, academies, and regional initiatives.
  • Coordinate event logistics such as scheduling, venue arrangements, materials preparation, and participant communication.
  • Assist in the development of program agendas, content, and speaker coordination.
  • Provide on‑site and virtual event support to ensure seamless delivery and participant engagement.
Strategic Planning & Program Support
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives for communities and partner organizations.
  • Assist with research, facilitation materials, and documentation related to planning efforts.
  • Help track project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes across multiple initiatives.
Professional Development Programming
  • Assist in the design and delivery of professional development opportunities, including workshops, training sessions, and virtual learning events.
  • Support development of program materials, presentations, and participant resources.
Economic & Community Impact Support
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to economic and community development initiatives.
  • Support preparation of impact reports, presentations, and grant‑related documentation.
  • Assist with coordination of communications, including email updates, program announcements, and participant engagement efforts.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Delta Center’s mission and programs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer‑service mindset.
  • Basic analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
General Days/Hours
  • Monday – Friday; no more than 28 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule (part‑time hours to be determined).
  • Occasional evening or travel required to support events and programs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
Other
  • Experience supporting leadership development programs or professional training initiatives.
  • Familiarity with community and economic development practices.
  • Experience with event coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with data collection, reporting, or basic economic analysis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual event platforms.
  • Participation in E‑Verify.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, economic development, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in program coordination, event planning, project management, or a related field.
