The work model for the role is:
Onsite, Jonesboro, AR

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day, you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills, supporting the business in the implementation of policies, practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Driving continuous improvement by implementing the Group HSE management system, training, and improvement programs and cultivating a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE; assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE law and ABB management requirements.

• Overseeing internal and external audits, as well as HSE risk assessments conducted by the line management, and ensuring all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented; reporting HSE performance and progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as required.

• Raising awareness of and winning commitment to ABB Group sustainability targets; participating in determining the annual budget for their own area of responsibility and being accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets.

• Planning and executing HSE projects, managing resources and reporting on goals and progress; ensuring that HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards, processes, guidelines, and best practices.

• Managing a team, which includes an Environmental Specialist and a facility nurse (external employee).

• Bachelor’s degree PLUS minimum 8 years HSE experience with minimum 3 years of HSE manager experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 10 years related experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 12 years’ related experience.

• Sound knowledge of OSHA and the state, federal and local environmental regulations.

• The ability to manage complex issues and work in cross‑functional teams.

• A collaborative, solution‑focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.

• Skills in data base management systems, MS Office.

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

ABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts) helps manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket. The Division’s products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world. The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction.

The Premier Industrial product segment includes multiple product lines, such as Ty‑Rap cable ties, T & B Liquidtight Systems protection products, PVC coated and nylon conduit systems, power connection and grounding systems, and cable protection systems of conduits and fittings for harsh and industrial applications. The Division also manufactures solutions for medium‑voltage applications used in the utility market under its marquee brands including Elastimold reclosers and switch gear, capacitor switches, current limiting fuses, Homac distribution connectors, Hi‑Tech Valiant full‑range current limiting fuse for fire mitigation, faulted current indicators and distribution connectors, cable accessories and apparatus with products for overhead and underground distribution.

Manufacturing includes made‑to‑stock and custom‑made solutions.
