Position: Project Engineer II (Compton)

Job Overview

The Project Engineer II will support project management activities for Primoris Services Corporation in Compton, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. This role involves a blend of technical support, coordination, and administrative duties across various construction projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and progress reports.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and assist in developing solutions to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality, and safety compliance, and report findings to the project team.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination of project activities.
  • Assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget analysis for assigned projects.
  • Support the procurement process, including material requisitions, tracking deliveries, and verifying invoices.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards on all project sites.
  • Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or senior management.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in construction project engineering or a similar role, preferably within the heavy civil or utilities sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the Compton area and surrounding regions as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
