• Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily, including breaking stories and reported features
• Edit copy for accuracy, clarity, and strong headlines under tight deadlines
• Collaborate with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage across platforms
• Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences
• Apply SEO and tagging best practices to enhance content discoverability

• 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social media copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing (Photoshop or similar)
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but strong experience may substitute

• Strong writing and editing skills with sound editorial judgment
• Genuine passion for news, current events, and cultural conversations
• Experience publishing or promoting content on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team-driven coverage
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
