Position Overview
San José State University – School of Information is searching for an Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Library and Information Science (LIS). The position will begin in August 2025 and focus on AI and library & information science, a critical area of need and high priority for the university.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design, development, and release of a new interdisciplinary minor in AI for undergraduates.
- Contribute to the creation of a 4+1 accelerated program that combines a four‑year undergraduate program with one year of graduate work, enabling students to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
- Help lead the iSchool in AI LIS teaching and research initiatives.
