Job Summary:

Marist University invites applications for an AI Literacy Fellow to advance the university's vision for responsible, applied artificial intelligence across teaching, learning, and operations. This position plays a key role in building a scalable, campus wide AI learning ecosystem that supports faculty, staff, and students in developing practical AI fluency. The Fellow ensures that programming is tailored to the distinct contexts and learning needs of each population, including a differentiated approach to student AI literacy.
The AI Literacy Fellow serves as a connector across academic and administrative units—designing and delivering training, consulting on use cases, and developing resources that promote ethical, effective AI adoption. The Fellow works closely with the Office of Digital Education and collaborates with leadership of the Marist + AI, AI Academy, and Center for Teaching and Learning to align programming with institutional priorities.
This is a hands-on, implementation-focused role suited to a professional with experience in teaching, presenting, and applying AI tools in educational or organizational contexts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred in education, instructional design, educational technology, or related field)
  • 1–3 years of experience teaching, presenting, or facilitating training on AI literacy, digital tools, or emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) in educational or professional contexts
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, practical applications
  • Experience collaborating across teams or departments
Essential Functions:

AI Literacy Training & Program Delivery
  • Design and deliver AI literacy programming including workshops, demonstrations, office hours, and short courses for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Provide practical, audience-specific training for faculty, staff, and students
  • Promote responsible and effective use of generative AI tools in academic and operational settings
Departmental Consultation & Engagement
  • Partner with academic departments and administrative units to identify AI use cases
  • Deliver customized guidance aligned with disciplinary norms and workflows
  • Support applied adoption of AI to enhance teaching, research support, and productivity
Resource Development & Brightspace Enablement
  • Develop and maintain centralized AI resource hubs in Brightspace
  • Create guides, tutorials, sample assignments, and policy-aligned materials
  • Curate evolving best practices for AI use in higher education
AI Academy & Credential Pathways
  • Support development and delivery of AI microcredentials, badges, and certificates
  • Track participation, engagement, and learning outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credential programs
Strategic Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Marist + AI Institute leadership to align programming with institutional strategy
  • Provide insights from campus engagement to inform emerging initiatives
Instructional & Digital Education Support
  • Partner with instructional designers and faculty to integrate AI into course design
  • Support AI-informed assignments, assessment strategies, and usage policies
Community Building & Continuous Improvement
  • Facilitate communities of practice and learning networks
  • Gather feedback and assess program effectiveness

    Share emerging practices across campus
Other duties as assigned
