System Engineer Iv

Full Time, Day Shift, M-F 8a-4:30p. some call required

Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree with course work in computer information systems and/or Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix or other relevant certifications.

Requires 10+ years of experience in systems engineering in an enterprise environment. Need to be proficient in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Servers, VMWare environments, Citrix environments, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Experience with Cisco UCS preferred. Five years of experience in a hospital environment preferred.

Normal hospital environment. Occasional exposure to changes in temperature in computer room. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range for telephone. Use of calculator, bar code scanner, computer, printer, copy machine and fax machine. Some bending and reaching for filing and reports. Continuous sitting. Some physical installation of equipment. Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds. Some walking about large hospital campus (including stairways).

The System Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Performs other duties as assigned. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Rotating on-call required. Reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
