Position Summary
The Facility Specialist SH&E will coordinate and execute safety, health, and environmental programs. The position interacts with employees to ensure a culture of safety where each employee is accountable and responsible for Safety, Health, and Environmental conditions and behaviors. They ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, routinely interacting with employees on the manufacturing floor. They also complete and maintain a variety of assessments to identify hazards and collaborate with the onsite team to create action plans to eliminate identified hazards.

Responsibilities- Foster and develop a culture where safety, health, and environment are core values with all employees, ensuring zero risk is achievable.
- Actively participate on the SH&E Team/Pillar and other assigned teams, coaching and developing operational line supervision to be effective SH&E leaders.
- Analyze SH&E conditions and behaviors and recommend changes to continuously improve performance toward world‑class levels.
- Implement systems, procedures, and work practices to maintain an “audit‑ready” state of compliance.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state and local legislation and regulations pertaining to SH&E.
- Review, analyze, critique, and/or approve engineering design development reports, plans, and specifications for compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Drive implementation of best‑in‑class SH&E programs, systems, and processes, including training and coaching to establish clear procedures on SH&E measures and precautions.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental and/or safety subject area or related fields preferred. Equivalent years of experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years’ experience in coordinating safety, health, and environmental sustainability activities in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and local equivalents and their application to site operations.
- Professional certifications in SH&E related fields (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP, CIH) are considered beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal interactions and ability to build teams across all levels and functions of the site with respect, tact, and impactful outcomes.
- Strong decision‑making skills, capable of making well‑informed decisions in routine and emergency situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to relate with audiences that have a broad range of backgrounds and understanding.
- Demonstrated insight and ability to develop mutual solutions to challenges.
- Ability to work and lead in a team setting, live the Nestlé Leadership Principles, and bring those principles to life for others.
