Job Overview

This position will provide coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations arising from military needs, such as post‑deployment events or to cover assignments for counselors who are absent. The role offers the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.

• Provide one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, and presentations to service members and families.
• Consult with commanders, staff, or other providers as needed.
• Provide referral resources outside the counseling session.
• Coordinate with installation and branch Points of Contact to ensure program scope and installation needs are met.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver personal financial management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes such as web‑based secure online chat or video‑based communications.
• Virtual PFC support may only be authorized by OSD FINRED Program office.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing trend and issue information.
• Participate in regular in‑service training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered.
• U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual only if required by contract.
• Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation clearance.
• Completed the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold at least one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Over 1,000 hours of financial counseling experience.

Salary range: $50,225 – $75,335, based on national data and adjusted per qualifications, experience, and location. Short‑term incentives may be available in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
