Welcome to Hytrol Careers

Overview

The Director of Cybersecurity, Data, and Infrastructure is responsible for owning the security, resilience, and foundational technology capabilities of the organization. This role provides strategic direction and operational leadership across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data, ensuring these functions operate reliably, securely, and in alignment with business priorities.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a daily execution role. The Director is expected to remain technically fluent, step in during critical events, and guide execution through a capable team. Day-to-day operational delivery is carried out by the teams and leads within each discipline.

Why This Role?

This role offers the opportunity to lead the foundation of the company’s technology environment—protecting the business, enabling data-driven decisions, and ensuring reliable operations—while working collaboratively across IT and the business. It is designed for a leader who thrives on accountability, partnership, and building sustainable capabilities through strong teams.

Responsibilities

Cybersecurity (Primary Incident Authority)

  • Own the organization’s cybersecurity posture, including governance, risk management, and incident response readiness
  • Serve as the executive point of contact during cybersecurity incidents, coordinating response, decision-making, communications, and recovery
  • Ensure cybersecurity controls, tooling, and processes are in place and operating effectively
  • Lead continuous improvement of security capabilities without acting as the primary day-to-day operator of security tools

Infrastructure & Operations (Reliability and Scale)

  • Own the reliability, availability, and scalability of infrastructure across network, cloud, servers, endpoints, and core platforms
  • Set standards and direction for infrastructure design, modernization, and operational practices
  • Ensure operational issues are resolved efficiently through established teams and escalation paths
  • Maintain visibility into system health and risk, stepping in for critical escalations—not routine operations

Data Strategy & Governance (Enablement Focused)

  • Partner with business and IT leaders to help define and advance the organization’s data strategy
  • Ensure data platforms are secure, reliable, and governed appropriately
  • Support data quality, access, and governance frameworks
  • This role does not function as a reporting factory or sole data producer, but enables data teams and business users to succeed
  • Lead and develop teams across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data functions
  • Establish clear priorities, roles, and accountability within each discipline
  • Own budgets, vendor relationships, and cost management for all areas of responsibility
  • Plan for future capability growth and organizational maturity
  • Work closely with business leaders to align foundational technology capabilities with operational and strategic needs
  • Partner with the Software Engineering and Applications organization to ensure security, infrastructure, and data considerations are embedded into system design and delivery
  • Communicate risks, trade-offs, and priorities clearly to executive leadership

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and/or data domains
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing budgets
  • Demonstrated leadership during cybersecurity incidents or major operational events
  • Strong background in infrastructure operations and modernization
  • Experience contributing to or guiding data platform and governance initiatives

Skills & Expertise

  • Cloud Platform Expertise:
Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar
  • Networking & Security:
Understanding of cloud networking, firewalls, and security protocols
  • Dev Ops:
Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing or complex operational environment
  • ERP platform experience (Epicor Kinetic Cloud preferred)
