Position Overview
Responsible for the coordination of the documentation required by U.S. Customs and Government Agencies for entry of goods into the U.S. on behalf of importers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide impeccable customer service.
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or customs.
- Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and may handle all PGA's (participating Government Agencies).
- Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record‑keeping requirements.
- Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
- Work closely with other internal staff, departments, other Fed Ex operations, and customers to deliver high level of service.
- Process agency brokerage shipments.
- May handle remote filings.
- Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- No industry experience required.
- Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment with the ability to perform routine tasks such as data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle high volume of work, time‑sensitive tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use multiple systems and reference material.
- Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, and internal departments.
Seeking candidates with the ability to think quickly while dealing with complex documentation. Must have excellent attention to detail. This position requires meeting daily and weekly quotas using the computer and multiple databases.
Pay and ShiftPay: $19.00
Shift: Tuesday and Saturday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Mandatory overtime may be required during periods of high volume. Working on company‑recognized holidays may be necessary.
Training and BenefitsPaid training provided. Training schedule:
Monday‑Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 am, August 24 – September 4.
