Overview

Trinity Rail is hiring an Expert Painter at our Jonesboro plant. Trinity Rail is hiring an Expert Painter to prepare, coat, and finish metal and/or other surfaces, operating conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes and related coatings.

• Prepare painting area
• Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other surfaces
• Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems according to prescribed formulas
• Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain proper dispersion
• Monitor flow and viscosity of the paint; regulate temperature and air circulation in drying ovens
• Clean paint lines and guns; perform cleaning and preventative maintenance on painting equipment
• Maintain applicable paperwork as required
• Follow all safety rules and practices; perform duties as assigned

• 4-6+ years of related experience
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Ability to use independent judgement and resourcefulness
• Ability to solve complex problems using advanced technical knowledge and creativity

Prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or other material. Apply coatings to specifications and complete detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.
