Requirements
- Associate, diploma, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.
- Registered nurse license in the state of Arkansas required.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance in Arkansas required.
- Preferred:
Two years of patient care nursing experience. - Preferred:
One year in Hospice or community setting. - Desirable:
Prior experience in Med/Surgery, Oncology, Home Health, or Hospice.
- Driving is part of job responsibilities.
- Close eye work, hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Use of diabetic home monitoring, BP, thermometers, IV therapy equipment/sq, standard DME, beepers, telephone, and automobile.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
- Lifting, pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs.
- Carrying up to 40 lbs.

Job SummaryProvides direct nursing care and assesses the patient’s condition and nursing needs of the terminally ill patient; sets goals; prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals of the physical and psychological needs of the patient and family. Able to function independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Shares on call to provide 24‑hour availability for patients and families.
The RN will serve as a role model for nursing assistants and students by demonstrating clinical competence and leadership. The RN must promote good public relations for the unit, the nursing division, and the medical center while maintaining patient confidentiality.
