• JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education
    • A Master’s degree in nursing is required. Licensed by Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Certification by a national certifying body with prescriptive privileges. Advanced training as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Experience
    • 3 years’ experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care (level 3 or higher) is desired.

• JOB SUMMARY
  • Provide care for well term newborns as well as premature and sick newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), mother/baby unit, emergency room, delivery room, or specialty clinic. The NNP will work under the direction of the neonatologist and/or pediatrician while assuming responsibility for their patients, exercising judgment when necessary to assess, diagnose, and initiate medical procedures.
  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators.
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and postpartum care.
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws.
  • Ensuring proper feeding and basic care.
  • Attending high‑risk deliveries to assist with admission and stabilization of newborns.
