Position Summary:Nine (9)- month non-tenure-track undergraduate faculty position in the ACEN-accredited A-State School of Nursing. Participation in teaching and professional service is expected. This position is full-time, with a focus on weekend clinical placement in the BSN and AASN program options.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Actively participates in development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, and test construction.
- Responsible for clinical and didactic courses appropriate to areas of expertise.
- Plans and supervises clinical seminars.
- Establishes effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies.
- Continues education for professional growth through continuing education offerings.
- Participates in student mentoring and guidance.
- Maintains regular office hours on campus and virtually
- Participates in appropriate program, college and university activities as assigned for faculty and/or student recruitment and retention
- Serves on assigned program, college, and university committees.
- Sponsors and promotes planned activities of students, program, college and university as requested.
- Contributes to the community through involvement in and/or consultation to health-related organizations, board memberships, or professional presentations to the public
- Holds membership and participates in organizations that advance the profession of nursing, such as ANA, ARNA, Sigma, or other professional organizations
- Optional Participation in nursing research and other scholarly work, including but not limited to presentations at professional meetings, publications, grant applications, book and textbook reviews, and enrollment in university courses.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence-based education principles, basic nursing skills and a commitment to life-long learning.
Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach as part of a faculty team.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required or applicable to the position responsibilities and area of specialization, including special abilities.
Hours:
Primarily weekend coverage, Typically, Thursday - Monday
8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. (hours vary related to clinical rotations, office hours, didactic course load, and other program activities).
Regular and reliable attendance on campus and assigned clinical facility.

Up to 15 credit hour teaching workload.
Primary coverage is weekends for online program options for undergraduate nursing, assistance with covering on campus and distant campus program options, as needed
Academic experience preferred in the areas of medical/surgical nursing, ICU, mental health, and/or maternal/child.
1) An Earned Doctorate degree required, PhD preferred, or DNP
2) Unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as an RN in Arkansas or a compact state.
3) At least two (2) years of clinical practice as an RN.
4) Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience in nursing, preferred.
