An industry-leading animal genetics organization is seeking a Senior Quantitative Geneticist to join its research and innovation team. This position will play a key role in advancing genetic improvement programs through the development of evaluation models, breeding strategies, genomic prediction tools, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine quantitative genetic evaluation methodologies to improve selection accuracy and long-term genetic progress.
  • Design and optimize breeding strategies, selection criteria, and performance indexes.
  • Build and apply statistical, genomic, and predictive models to support breeding program objectives.
  • Utilize advanced analytical approaches, including machine learning and simulation techniques, to enhance decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning research, operations, bioinformatics, and data science.
  • Support the development and implementation of computational pipelines for genomic analyses and breeding program optimization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and scientific advancements to maintain a competitive breeding strategy.
What We're Looking For
  • PhD in Quantitative Genetics, Agri, Animal Breeding, Genomics, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience applying quantitative genetics within livestock, agriculture, aquaculture, or related biological systems 5+years.
  • Strong expertise in genetic evaluation, genomic prediction, breeding program design, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience working with large and complex biological datasets.
  • Proficiency in tools such as R, Python, C++, or similar analytical platforms.
  • Familiarity with genetic evaluation software and genomic analysis pipelines is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
