Laboratory Technician

Sylamore Bio is seeking to hire a laboratory technician to provide general laboratory research support. Sylamore Bio is a start-up biotechnology company currently located in the Catalyst Innovation Center at Arkansas Biosciences Institute in Jonesboro, AR.

Responsibilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to: the daily animal husbandry and maintenance of the mouse breeding colony such as daily animal welfare checks, checking for new pups, weaning, genotyping sample collections, and setting up new cages as well as assisting in behavior tests, injections, tissue collections, and basic lab techniques (pipetting, preparation of solutions, sterile technique, data analysis, and effectively communicating and documenting experimental activities).

Position requirements:
Successful candidates will have bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, zoology, health sciences etc.) and experience working with animals in a biological research lab setting, including pipetting, preparation of solutions and sterile technique. We are seeking someone who is highly motivated and dependable, works well in a team but is also capable of independent work once trained, is detail-oriented, and flexible.

Base Salary: $35,000 - $42,000 per year, depending on experience.
