Trinity Rail is hiring for a Maintenance and Repair Technician at our Jonesboro plant. The role supports the company’s mission of delivering critical goods across North America, ensuring that railcars are manufactured, maintained, and managed to keep the economy running.
The Senior Equipment Technician position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team‑minded individual who embraces challenges. You will use blueprints, schematics, power tools and electronic test equipment to perform maintenance tasks and diagnose operating problems in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
What you’ll do:- Perform complex repairs on production equipment motors and mechanical components, including basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems, perform preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
- Determine causes of operating problems, consult schematics and order replacement parts; perform high‑voltage electrical repairs (e.g., controls, relays).
- Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery following electrical code, manuals, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
- Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production electronic components, parts, switch panels, etc.
- Test new equipment, troubleshoot operation, and make minor adjustments.
- Maintain and complete all required records.
- Follow all safety rules and practices; may be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or a GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of related experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Capability to work above ground (15 ft. or more) and climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
- Ability to work in narrow or confined spaces for extended periods.
- Flexible to perform other duties as assigned.
