Position: Rigging Supervisor / Foreman

The Rigging Supervisor / Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the safe and efficient execution of industrial rigging and machinery moving operations. This role oversees daily rigging activities, coordinates lifting equipment and personnel, and ensures all work is performed safely and according to project plans. The supervisor works closely with project managers, crane operators, and clients to complete heavy equipment moves, installations, removals, and plant relocations.

Responsibilities
  • Field Operations
  • Supervise rigging crews performing heavy equipment moves and installations
  • Direct operations involving cranes, forklifts, gantries, hydraulic jacks, skates, and rigging gear
  • Execute lift plans and rigging procedures according to project specifications
  • Coordinate daily work activities and job sequencing with project management
  • Ensure equipment and materials are available and properly staged for operations
  • Safety Management
  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses (JHA)
  • Verify proper rigging techniques and equipment inspections
  • Stop work if unsafe conditions exist
  • Train and mentor riggers and apprentices
  • Assign tasks and monitor crew productivity
  • Maintain discipline, teamwork, and safe work practices on job sites
  • Communicate expectations and job instructions clearly
  • Inspect rigging equipment including slings, shackles, chains, and lifting devices
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cranes, forklifts, and specialized lifting equipment
  • Identify rigging requirements for heavy lifts and machinery moves
  • Client & Project Coordination
  • Communicate with project managers regarding job progress and issues
  • Interface with crane operators, subcontractors, and site personnel
  • Provide updates on job status, manpower, and equipment needs
Qualifications
  • 3–7+ years' experience in industrial rigging, machinery moving, or heavy equipment installation
  • Proven experience supervising or leading rigging crews
  • Strong understanding of:
  • crane operations
  • rigging hardware and lifting techniques
  • heavy equipment handling
  • Ability to read basic drawings, lift plans, and job instructions
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to rigging and lifting
