The Lead Equipment Technician position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge. In this role you will use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including but not limited to plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

• Lead Team by managing the MRO program to include purchasing, scheduling/planning maintenance activities, and managing inventory by using our CMMS program.
• Communicate across different levels, departments and with contractors/vendors.
• Understand the requirements of complex repairs on production equipment motors and mechanical components including basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Must be able to wire electrical cabinets. Troubleshoot electrical problems, perform preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components.
• Assist in completion of tasks to include ensuring required equipment, parts, support, etc. is available in order to meet deadlines.
• Plan, schedule and assess preventative maintenance and electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Determine causes of operating problems, consult schematics and order replacement parts. Perform high voltage electrical repairs (e.g. controls, relays).
• Assist with installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies production electronic components, parts, switch panels etc.
• May test new equipment, troubleshoot operation, and make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Maintain and complete all required records.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or a GED equivalent, technical certificate preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Effective communication skills with demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Proficient computer skills with focus on Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience with maintenance level inventory.
• The ability to read blueprints.
• May require working above ground (15 ft. or more).
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
• May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time.
