Village - Maint Tech

Overview

To plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and control the activities of the plant operations. The maintenance technician is responsible for performing tasks, which ensure the facility is maintained in excellent condition, both inside and outside the facility. This includes, but not limited to, building and grounds, painting, electrical systems per state codes, plumbing systems per state codes, water source heat pumps, all safety equipment, fire alarms, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lights.

• Minimum age: 18 years or older.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Prefer individuals who have completed vocational or trade school courses; organizational ability a plus.
• Experience: Background in physical plant maintenance and engineering skills required with at least 2 years of experience. Must have a current boiler license and/or be eligible to become licensed as required by the state.

• Frequently walks; uses hands to finger, handle, or control tools.
• Stands, sits, and moves; climbs or balances; stoops; kneels; crouches or crawls; and taste and smell.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, outside in weather conditions; exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must be able to work flexible hours; possess a valid driver’s license; relate to residents, family members, and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
