Trinity Rail is hiring for a Lead Equipment Technician over the MRO, Scheduling and Planning at our Jonesboro plant.

The Lead Equipment Technician is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who takes on challenging maintenance tasks. You will use blueprints, schematics, tools and electronic test equipment to perform maintenance and determine causes of operating problems in areas including plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

• Lead the MRO program, including purchasing, scheduling/planning maintenance activities, and inventory management using the CMMS system.
• Communicate across departments and with contractors/vendors.
• Understand and repair complex production equipment motors and mechanical components, including basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Wire electrical cabinets, troubleshoot electrical problems, and perform preventative maintenance and testing on wiring and components.
• Assist in ensuring required equipment, parts and support are available to meet deadlines.
• Plan, schedule and assess preventative maintenance and repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic).
• Diagnose causes of operating problems, consult schematics, and order replacement parts; perform high-voltage electrical repairs (e.g., controls, relays).
• Assist with installation and repair of electrical systems and components of industrial machinery, following electrical codes and blueprints.
• Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify production electronic components and panels.
• Test new equipment, troubleshoot operation, and make minor adjustments as needed.
• Maintain and complete all required records and adhere to safety rules and practices.
• Participate in safety committees or initiatives if involved.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; technical certificate preferred.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with effective technical communication.
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office; experience with CMMS is a plus.
• Minimum 4–6 years of related maintenance experience with inventory management.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• May require working at heights (above ground 15 ft or more) and climbing ladders or stairs.
• Ability to work in narrow or confined spaces for extended periods.
