About the RoleThe OTR Truck Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations within the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as tractor trailers to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in good working condition, performing routine inspections, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Additionally, the role requires strict compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to guarantee safety on the road and minimize risks. Ultimately, the OTR Truck Driver will contribute to the overall supply chain by ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately, on schedule, and with professionalism.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class
A. - Proven experience in truck driving with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform basic truck maintenance and safety inspections.
- Physical ability to handle loading and unloading tasks as needed.
- Experience driving tractor trailers.
- Familiarity with GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs)..
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in long-haul, OTR, or regional trucking routes.
- Operate commercial vehicles including tractor trailers to transport goods to designated locations.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of the vehicle.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records as required by law.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
The required skills such as truck driving and holding a CDL Class A license are essential for safely operating various commercial vehicles on diverse routes. Knowledge of DOT regulations ensures that the driver maintains compliance with federal and state laws, which is critical for legal and safe transportation. Skills in truck maintenance allow the driver to identify and address mechanical issues proactively, reducing downtime and enhancing safety.
Preferred skills like experience with tractor trailers. Additionally, proficiency with GPS and electronic logging devices supports efficient route management and accurate record-keeping, contributing to overall operational effectiveness.
