ABSENTEE VOTING ASSISTANT MANAGER (SEASONAL)
Purpose of Classification
The purpose of this classification is to maintain a complete and accurate record of all eligible voters in the County with each person voting in the correct precinct and for their correct representative, and to hold absentee balloting prior to all elections.
Essential Functions
- Incumbent in this class performs operational duties associated with providing administrative and supervisory support to the poll manager of an Early/Advance polling facility for in-person voting.
- Assist the poll managers in supervising assigned staff and ensuring the poll manager performs daily validation and reconciliation of the number of voters casting in-person ballots as reflected on voting machines and computer terminals with physical in-person absentee ballot applications on hand.
- Develop work schedule and duty assignments for staff. Accompany and assist the poll manager in opening and closing the poll and monitor activities of other poll officials to ensure compliance with poll procedures and fulfillment of other assigned election‑related duties.
- Conduct data entry, filing, document scanning, processing absentee ballots and maintaining correspondence.
- Assist with retrieving and distributing the mail. Provide customer service in person and via telephone. Apply knowledge of poll procedures, terminal and election equipment security.
- Access voter registration databases and retrieve reports to aid in reconciliation of daily voter participation. Possess knowledge of absentee ballot administrative and office theories and principles; working knowledge of personal computers, telephone etiquette and customer service procedures.
- Apply skills in customer relations, data entry, use of general office equipment, communication and interpersonal skills.

Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; and two (2) years of prior duties as a poll manager or an assistant poll manager; or a year‑for‑year interchange of related education and experience equal to the minimum qualifications. Must be able to work extended hours and weekends with short notice. Typing speed: 40 WPM preferred. (If requested by the department, a typing test will be administered at a later date.
Application will be reviewed and sent to the department if all other minimum qualifications are met.)
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work that may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5‑10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
