Social Studies Instructor
Instructs high school students in social studies. May be designated according to subject matter/content specialty. Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. This position reports to the principal.
Key responsibilities include instructing students, assigning lessons and correcting homework, administering tests, maintaining discipline in the classroom, supervising behavior outside the classroom, preparing course outlines and objectives, conducting parent/teacher conferences, and participating in faculty and professional meetings.
Key job requirements include a bachelor's degree or higher, minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred, certification by the state of Georgia in education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC, and the ability to stand and walk approximately seven to seven and one-half hours per day with light duty requirements.
