POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, develops, administers and implements all functions related to the operation of the district-wide Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs, in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the District while complying with state and federal laws and accreditation standards related to CTAE.
This position reports to the Executive Director of CTAE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with the development, evaluation, and implementation of the CTAE curriculum as appropriate. Collaborates with District and school-based administrators in the development and implementation of instructional plans to address CTAE programs. Coordinates efforts to develop, adopt, and/or revise curriculum materials for CTAE courses.

Collaborates with other District level departments to plan appropriate professional learning opportunities for teachers. Assists in the planning and implementation of in-service activities for CTAE teachers. Assists in the recruitment and screening of career, technical, and agricultural teachers for the purpose of ensuring qualified employees.

Serves as facilitator of the General Advisory Committee for CTAE. Monitors the creation and use of Program Advisory Committees. Assists in District certification (e.g. Cognia, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring an effective program for all middle and high school students. Works in collaboration with various community organization in support of the curriculum; pursues grant opportunities with partners and assists with implementation.

Conducts instructional audits in local schools; identifies appropriate state or college/university personnel to assist with program audit.

Plans, coordinates, and implements connecting activities between schools and the business community. Assesses community businesses for interest in new program areas; arranges information meetings with potential employers and contacts individual employers to promote youth apprenticeship, internship, and work-based learning programs.

Assists with preparing budgets for the CTAE Department. Maintains compliance with all budget related rules, regulations, and legal requirements.

Reviews and assists in approving textbooks and other instructional materials used in CTAE programs.

Conducts instructional audits in local schools; identifies appropriate state or college/university personnel to assist with program audit.

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in educational related field required. Specialist degree preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in public school in the area of Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education required. Prior experience working across all District Divisions preferred.

Makes decisions and final recommendations which routinely affect the activities of others.

GaPSC Certification at Level 5 or higher in Educational Leadership required.

High level of judgment required: supervisor is available on a limited time basis; individual required to establish and evaluate departmental and organizational objectives; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations.

Requires regular, frequent contact with internal personnel of influence and decision‑making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter‑organizational teams.
