Cybersecurity Operations Analyst Information Technology

CYBERSECURITY OPERATIONS ANALYST INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Purpose: The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst designs and manages information security solutions, summarizes trends, and develops and implements processes and procedures to protect Clayton County’s information, assets, and systems. This position reports to the Network Security Engineer.

• Develop, document, and maintain technical security procedures and protocols.
• Identify new security practices or trends and conduct periodic security reviews/audits.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect intrusions or security breaches.
• Serve as first‑level escalation for security incidents, escalating to the Network Security Engineer and collaborating with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Work with Department stakeholders, Network Infrastructure teams, IT leadership, and other personnel to implement security measures.
• Occasionally provide on‑call support for off‑hour security breaches, system monitoring, and other incidents.
• Ensure authorized access to all systems.
• Perform penetration tests to detect system intrusions.
• Function independently, take proactive initiative, manage multiple tasks, and foster a collaborative team environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years of Security Management experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license and personal vehicle for official county business, including after‑hours return trips.

• Data Utilization: Review, classify, prioritize, and analyze data, exercising discretion in data classification and application.
• Human Interaction: Apply principles of persuasion and influence to coordinate activities within projects, programs, or areas of responsibility.
• Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Operate and control equipment, machinery, tools, and materials requiring complex adjustments.
• Verbal Aptitude: Utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, advisory, and design data and information.

• Physical Ability: Perform tasks requiring moderate physical effort, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting or carrying loads of 50–100 pounds.
• Sensory Requirements: Perceive and discriminate colors, shades, depth, visual cues, and communicate orally as necessary.
• Environmental Factors: Perform essential functions in adverse environmental conditions, including traffic hazards.
