Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
  • Manage parts inventory, perform periodic reconciliation, and operate company‑issued service truck with safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
  • Work with clients and customers, assess their needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve problems.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks, schedule work effectively, and maintain a high level of productivity within standard repair times.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as required and communicate with management for approvals and repair estimates.
  • Document all work according to company standards, upload pictures and parts used, and accurately complete DOT forms in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternatively, higher degree or 5 years’ experience).
  • Possess a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
  • Hold a valid state driver’s license with a valid DOT medical card or pass a DOT physical.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet safe driver requirements.
Preferred Certifications
  • ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
  • ASE 608/609 certification
