Student Advocacy Specialist
The Student Advocacy Specialist serves as a strategic leader overseeing the design and implementation of a district-wide system of behavioral health, student support, and school safety. This role ensures the effective integration of supports within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), using data to drive decision-making, improve outcomes, and ensure equitable access to services. The Specialist builds and manages partnerships across schools, community agencies, and state systems to create a seamless continuum of care, while advising district leadership on policy, compliance, and best practices.
Additionally, the role leads the development and evaluation of Tier 1–3 supports and staff training, ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation across the district. This position operates at a systems level to strengthen coordination, remove barriers, and improve student well-being, engagement, and success. This position will report to the Director of Student Behavioral Health and Wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include strategic leadership and systems alignment, coordination of behavioral health and student support, data analysis and program evaluation, training, capacity building, and compliance, and partnership development and stakeholder collaboration.
Key job requirements include a bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, a related behavioral health field, or comparable experience in these fields of expertise with PSC certification. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in counseling, social services or pupil personnel services is required. Requires moderate level of judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to exercise duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders.
Normal office setting with possible travel for off-site locations and school site visits. Light duty with intermittent sitting, standing, or stooping and light lifting or carrying twenty (20) lbs. or less.

This is a grade 26, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 8.
