The Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS), Child Welfare Services (CWS), is seeking professional individual for the position of Child Welfare Services Administrator. This position will report to the director.
The Child Welfare Placement Utilization Supervisor supervises, guides and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff; supervises a social services unit that provides investigative and comprehensive case management for child/adult abuse or neglect; directs professional staff in delivery of services; sets unit goals and regulates workloads in accordance with agency's goals; and ensures that immediate and follow-up actions for at risk clients occur in a timely manner.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
- Assures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Builds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with other agencies and providers.
- Creates and maintains positive working relationships within the community and on the county DFCS Board.
- Develop and administer budgets.
- Facilitates communication within the unit(s)/agency on a specific case level as well as on a procedure/policy level.
- Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees from social services.
- Leads and administers a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability, and social services.
- Identifies placement resources for children within the foster care system.
- Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for groups of social services employees.
- Plans, administers, and maintains the operation of social services programs.
- Reviews new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
- Reviews, approves/disapproves, or renders decisions on casework being performed by staff.
- Works in collaboration with legal system to ensure safety and achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of job-related supervisory experience in a human service delivery program.
- OR
- Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Welfare Svc Case Mgr Spv (SSP
073) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience.
- Supervisory work experience with DFCS (or comparable human services agency) managing Child Protective Services (CPS), Foster Care and/or Adoptions.
