Position Description

The mission of the Admissions Office is to actively recruit a national, diverse group of prospective students through accurate and effective communication to enroll students who are ready to train for Christian service.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), required to participate in CSA training and to immediately forward all reports of Clery Act crimes to the Clery Compliance Officer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process ISIR records and communicate clearly with parents/students when FAFSA has been received, what forms (if any) are needed, and when they can expect to receive the award package.
  • Resolve any conflicting information that is present.
  • Perform verification of all files selected.
  • Send reminder emails to students who have completed a FAFSA but have missing information/documents, and students who are registered but have not completed a FAFSA.
  • Monitor students with a 529 plan to ensure, when necessary, it is added to the FAFSA as an asset.
  • Track I&M Grant applications and prepare spreadsheet used by the committee to award each semester. Send I&M thank‑you reminders to students.
  • Create all dynamic forms, including the I&M Grant Application. Facilitate the posting of all form links on the website/student portal and communicate availability to students.
  • Maintain student financial aid files: create, color‑code, and file documents, and monitor files for proper record retention.
  • Maintain the finaid email account, responding to student/parent requests.
  • Serve as the backup to Student Account Manager in their absence.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data to shape customer service strategies.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the telephone.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills; detail‑oriented.
    • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
    • Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures.
    • Ability to demonstrate self‑direction and motivation.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective, team‑oriented working relationships.
    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and at least two years of customer service and clerical experience.
  • Experience working with IRS tax returns is a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires occasional lifting up to twenty pounds. One must be able to work in a climate‑controlled office environment. Vision must be good or corrected to normal to perform normal job duties. Must have good hearing to understand information and perform job duties effectively. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity is needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.
