About the RoleOur client, a major financial services firm, is expanding its PMO after recently taking on a significant portfolio of new projects. This Senior Project Coordinator role supports Project Leaders across multiple concurrent initiatives - spanning platform modernization, transformation, and functional change work - on a long-term, 19-month engagement.
Unlike a standard coordinator role, this position operates with a high degree of independence. You'll own delivery artifacts, surface risks before they elevate, and step in to free up Project Leaders where needed. You'll work directly with Project Leaders, Portfolio Managers, Digital Teams, and Business Area leaders.
Responsibilities- Coordinate meetings, standups, and working sessions in support of Project Leaders
- Maintain project plans, status reports, dashboards, and delivery artifacts in Clarity and Share Point
- Track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, and dependencies - surfacing concerns early
- Prepare agendas and materials for planning events, reviews, and stakeholder updates
- Support cross-team coordination and dependency awareness across initiatives
- Reinforce communication standards and cadences for a consistent stakeholder experience
- Back up Project Leaders as needed to ensure continuity of delivery and communication
- 5+ years of experience in project coordination or project management
- Working knowledge of both Agile and waterfall methodologies
- Hands-on experience with Clarity (project and portfolio tracking) - this is essential to the role
- Experience with JIRA and Share Point
- Ability to work independently across multiple concurrent initiatives with minimal oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Experience with Aha!
- Understanding of Agile and Lean delivery principles, including PI Planning
- Financial services experience is helpful, though hands-on tool proficiency matters more
- Milestone and schedule adherence across assigned initiatives
- Timely, accurate delivery artifacts and documentation
- Early identification and escalation of risks, issues, and dependencies
- Consistent adherence to standard delivery practices and tooling
- Stakeholder clarity and confidence built on reliable, consistent information
