- Recent and verifiable occupational experience in the areas of Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical, and Engine Performance.

General Expectations:

- Read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, and handbooks and apply to job duties.
Essential Functions:
- Works with the program's Advisory Committee to maintain current industry standards; incorporates current practices from business, industry and education to support instruction.
- Teaches the course curriculum as outlined by FTC and DESE.
- Delivers theory and skills training through classroom instruction and demonstration of skills.
- Provides experience in safety and maintenance issues of the shop.
- Demonstrates the proper and safe use of equipment and tools.
- Organizes classroom and/or laboratory in a manner which is conducive to learning.
- Maintains positive classroom management by setting and communicating high, consistent expectations for learning and achievement.
- Employs a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Monitors and evaluates student progress.
- Prepares and grades classroom and lab assignments and examinations.
- Evaluates individual student competency attainment.
- Maintains academic and attendance records.
- Develops relationships with business and industry to remain current in industry standards.
- Prepares students for entry-level employment in the automotive technology field.
- Assists students in obtaining related employment upon successful completion of the program.
- Displays appropriate personal and professional traits that exhibit a positive role model for students.
- Carries out all other duties as assigned.
